Below you'll find the names of all the students we sponsor, and a little paragraph about each student. Ever since we have started our sponsoring programme four years ago, we have retained most of our kids, and have even seen two of our former students graduate from college. We are very proud of all they have achieved, and will continue to support them through higher education if they wish. 

Some information may be incomplete - these are the students who are new to our program, and we are currently in the process of receiving their information.

李文玉 (LI Wenyu)

Age: 17          Minority: Man
School:

Li Wenxu comes from a single parent home - her mother is poorly and needs medicine year-round. Her family has no source of income.
 

李秀成 (Li Xiucheng)

DOB: 6/10/09        Minority: Han
School: 鄂伦春旗甘河镇第一小学 (Eluncun Qi Ganhe No. 1 Primary School)

"My home is in Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia, Eluncun area Ganhe city. Because my mother has epilepsy, she doesn't have a fixed income. My father makes 300RMB/month to help cover the living costs for my mother and I. My parents are divorced and I live with my grandmother who is constantly sick. I like to draw, I love life. I want to be a painter to paint the most beautiful artworks in my hometown, and I hope my international big brothers and sisters from Noughts & Hearts can come to my home to see me. I hope you can help me, I only want to live life as happily as my big brothers and sisters in Noughts & Hearts."

郑好 (ZHeng Hao)

Age: 8   Minority: Han

Zhou Jie comes from a single parent home; her mother is sick and needs medicine daily. Her family struggles to make ends meet.

麻斌 (Ma Bin)

Age: 11   Minority: Han

Ma Bin's mother suffers from severe heart disease and chronic bronchitis, therefore cannot work, so it is up to his father to earn money for the family. Because his parents didn't go to school, the only jobs available involve hard physical labour. Ma Bin's father had worked with his father on such jobs, and injured his left hand and now can no longer do heavy physical work. They receive subsidies from the government but it isn't enough to support the whole family. 

明宴均 (Ming YanJun)

Age: 11   Minority: Han

Ming Yanjun is a lively and cheerful child. Her father suffered a liver rupture and received surgery; after the surgery he lost use of his right hand. The family was hit very hard with medical expenses and is still struggling. Only Ming Yanjun's mother words, and she only works part time. Because her mother does temporary work, and the family income is instable, Ming Yanjun's family cannot apply for permanent residency.

白欣悦 (Bai Xinyue)

Age: 12 Minority: Oroqen

Bai Xinyue's father died and his mother remarried, and left her to be taken care of a nanny. She has had to apply for special financial aid from the government which is her family's main source of income. 

Bai Xinyue loves to learn, works hard for good grades, and has taught herself good morals. She is very independent and brings it upon herself to help her classmates who might be in tough situations. 

王亚楠 (Wang Yanan)

Age: 10 Minority: Han

Wang Yanan is in 2nd grade. Both her parents are in poor health and did not attend school so cannot secure steady work. This means they only have enough money to rent rundown houses to live in every year. Their family has Hukou elsewhere, but in their home they have no help from the government because they have no certification that states they are living below the poverty line or states that they are in poor health. Her parents emphasise the importance of learning to Wang Yanan though, and are in constant contact with her teachers to continue to foster good habits of learning and inquiry. 

Wang Yanan is a very motivated, hardworking student who has a very positive attitude.

王嘉炀 (WANG Jiayang)

Age: 13 Minority: Han

Wang Jiayang's grandparents are both in poor health and require a lot of medical attention. His parents also don't have a very high income, so as a result money is very tight in the family. 

Wang Jiayang is very attentive in school, and is often a teacher's aide in lessons. He is also very popular among his class and enjoys being social.
