BIKING IN INNER MONGOLIA 2015

Watch our recap videos below! (Youtube and Youku)

A compilation of photos/videos taken during the Noughts & Hearts charity bike trip that took place in June 2015. The aim of this bike ride was to raise enough money to bring at least 12 students from Inner Mongolia to Shanghai for a week-long summer programme organised by Noughts & Hearts.

We are so overwhelmed at the amount of support we received for our 2015 bike ride! We raised 148% of our fundraising goal to reach ¥45,947 total as we biked over 610 km! The money raised allowed us to not only cover the travel fees of our students from Inner Mongolia to Shanghai, but also the cost of transportation around Shanghai, ticket fees for visiting landmarks as well as some meal costs. Thank you again to all who have supported us!

In June 2015, a group of college students from Shanghai and New York City took on a 610km bike trip across Inner Mongolia in the hopes of raising money for Noughts & Hearts.

The bike ride took place across the Hulunbeier region from the main city, Hailaer, to the town of Eluncun, where most of the children Noughts & Hearts support are located. The route will cover grasslands, wetlands, mountains and forests.

The money we raised will go towards a summer camp that we call “Shanghai Dream” - through this summer camp we will bring all the kids Noughts & Hearts supports to Shanghai for a 5 day educational experience. This camp took place the second week of August, and involved visiting landmarks and tourist destinations such as the Pearl Tower and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, as well as visiting different companies to learn about different disciplines of work.

The success of our trip and fundraiser allowed us to gain more social awareness through Zhongchou, the Chinese crowdfunding website. With a wider audience that supports Noughts & Hearts, we are now working on more projects and hopefully turn the fundraising bike trip into an annual experience!

Please watch the video above for a little insight into what happened over the 7 days the team biked in Inner Mongolia. To learn more about how you can be involved in a 2016 bike trip, please contact us.
